ABOUT US

MidAtlantic Surveying – Land Design, Inc. provides land surveying services for Central and Eastern Virginia. We have a separate company, TSC Surveying, to provide  land surveying services in North Carolina.  MidAtlantic Surveying – Land Design has over 100 years of combined engineering and surveying experience among our highly qualified staff.  Our primary goal is providing each client efficient, accurate, quality service in a timely manner at a highly competitive cost.  We also offer small scale Civil Engineering services. 
  
MidAtlantic Surveying – Land Design, Inc.  was started in January 2008 as a buyout of a branch office of another surveying firm.  Mid-Atlantic Surveying – Land Design is a SWaM certified Woman Owned Small Business (cert# 667236).  We have the capabilities to run up to 6 crews simultaneously.  We use the latest in surveying technology to ensure efficient and accurate data collection for boundary, construction, and topographical surveys and provide our staff with training and education to utilize the technology to its fullest.  

MidAtlantic Surveying is owned by Beth Anne and Tim Campbell, who are both active in all aspects of project management and available at all times.  We have one office, located in Virginia Beach, VA.      

Team Member Profiles

President – Beth Anne Garriott Campbell
Beth Anne Garriott Campbell has an extensive background in management and education.  Her strengths are business management and planning.    Mrs. Campbell’s primary roles at MidAtlantic Surveying – Land Design, Inc. are the supervision of the day to day operations of the business, all bookkeeping, marketing and employee management.  Beth Anne is also involved in CAD work, cost estimation and project management.  Beth Anne is a field to finish surveyor - experienced in all areas of field survey work.    Mrs. Campbell has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia and a Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education from the College of William and Mary.  She is part of a rich history of land surveying in the Tidewater area, following in her grandfather’s, father’s and uncle’s footsteps as they are career Surveyors and/or Civil Engineers in the Tidewater area.    

Vice-President/Director of Geomatics – Timothy S. Campbell, LS, EIT
Timothy Campbell has more than 28 years experience in Land Surveying.   In his capacity as a survey director he has been in charge of and performed professional oversight of numerous municipal, federal and private development projects.    Mr. Campbell grew up working with his Professional Land Surveyor father, put in  extensive field experience nationally and internationally on projects ranging in scope from a few acres to 1500 acres.  After 15 years of field and management experience Mr. Campbell went back to college to obtain his BS degree in Civil Engineering Technology, with a Surveying and Site Development Emphasis and a Minor in Engineering Management .   He is a 2000 Magnum Cum Laude graduate of Old Dominion University.    Mr. Campbell is past President of the Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia Association of Surveyors where he also chaired the education committee, additionally, he is a member of the North Carolina Society of Surveyors.     

Civil Engineer – Richard E. Garriott, PE
With 38 years of experience as a professional engineer, Richard Garriott has completed the civil engineering design for numerous facilities. He understands the delicate balance required to accommodate urban growth with limited resources; he also continually strives to produce quality designs that meet time and budget goals. Mr. Garriott's experience includes: waterfront and industrial structures; water supply wells and hydropneumatic supply systems; massive septic drainfield analysis and design; wetland mitigation; marina design; and storm transmission and detention facilities, including Best Management Practices for stormwater management and Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act requirements. He also has experience complying with the requirements for Erosion and Sediment Control and NPDES permits.
